When I came back from the market at noon today, a cute little jackrabbit was eating flowers on the lawn right by my apartment. There are many jackrabbits that have a whole colony on the hill behind my apartments, which extends into an Aliso Viejo park. These bunnies don't have much fear. They run when they see or hear Badger, but otherwise, they do what they want. It reminds me of the lab rabbit colony at Chapman (and parrots!). These are semi-tame animals. They probably would accept food if offered.
His back is a little damp from the rain. The sun had just come out - it's been raining off and on for several days here in South Orange County. He let me come very close to take this picture.
In this one, he's hiding in plain sight before I got out of the Land Rover.
