How can I even pretend to be a sci fi writer and have gone for eighteen-plus months here without realizing - what my readers really want to know - have been waiting daily for here - is to hear all about my favorite films and music! Well of course! How could I have been SO remiss.
I like a lot more music than some other people. My former husband Mike was a radio announcer, and we met at a radio station. Mike was and is a musical connoisseur and is a musician - with two CD's now, and working on a third. A part of me will always love classical music, and of that, since I'm not some hairy-knuckled serial killer on CSI or BONES - I like Mozart's Requiem Mass and Carl Orff Carmina Burana and lots of operas.
I've always been fond of this (Block Rockin Beats - Chemical Brothers). And I still listen to this. (Fat of the Land - Prodigy). I cannot say how much I like this. (System of a Down). And - look - guess what? I might be a total nerd but I was never, ever a geek. I definitely always loved this. (Joy Division). And have a lot of affection for the very sexy this. (Magazine). This album also features a "Song from Under the Floorboards," which you would know if you were either a) intelligent; or b) graduated from some type of decent college is the closer translation of Notes From Underground. Now - for twenty points - who wrote that? Oh! My liver is diseased, and - it's Dostoevsky! Yes! Fyodor Dostoevsky.
And then there is . . .
As I said before, one of my favorite films is Northfork. Another favorite is Kenneth Branagh's full version of Hamlet (I like the Mel Gibson version too) and Ian McKellan's really weird, crazy Richard III which features ROBERT DOWNEY, JR!
And I love cool old film noir like Criss Cross with Burt Lancaster.
